House of God

House of God
"No photos", says the sign.

Uh, what?

Snap.

This is the St. Mary's Cathedral, located in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. Despite its humble scale in comparison to the famous Gothic cathedrals, it awes its worshipers in its unique design. After all, it is the work of the renown architect, Tange Kenzo.

hey, how'd you find out about this cathedral? i mean, i used to live in bunkyo-ku and was not aware of such a piece of architecture! (T.T)

well, it's located at a discreet location, quite a distance away from the station. it's no way as eye-catching as the Tokyo Tower, so it's hard to find the place unless you know where to go. nevertheless, it's one of the most famous architectures in Japan.
